I am utterly terrible at craft blogging.
I know you’re shocked. But wait! There’s more!
I’m not just bad at craft blogging, but also bad at all the pieces of craft blogging. I forget to get in-progress pictures, and I forget to get finalized images, and even if I do get either of those, I sometimes forget to post things for months and months.
In short: I’m one of those bloggers, and while I try to remember to post, things happen, and then I forget. And when I remember again, I can’t find my camera or can’t remember what project I finished, and I find myself back where I started, with no posts, and huge gaps between new posts.
This is not a promise to try harder. This is a statement of the facts. I’ll post as I remember, and I hope anyone who wanders by is sufficiently entertained. And let it be known that while I may forget to blog, I do read and respond to comments as quickly as possible.
Another half a week, and my semester will be over. I would love to blog more often, but I find myself up to my eyes in homework much more often than not. Happily, I’ll have some time over the winter break to get a few projects finished. First up, some quick and pretty Christmas gifts.
If you’re still reading, thanks. And tell me what you’re working on.
I’ve known this for awhile, but it bears repeating that Googlepages is being dicontinued to make way for Googlesites. I would show the approrpiate level of vitriol I feel for this decision except for the fact that I’m trying to cut back on my swearing. Let it be known, were I to open up the frustration, the swearing would be epic.
The patterns on the webpage will be moved to this blog. I’ve got it pencilled in to get done sometime this week, so it should be completed sometime next week [let it never be said I won’t admit to my procrastination tendencies].
In the promised other news, I am, in fact, still around and crafty, but it’s a busy summer for me. I’ve got an internship [for course credit], a class [Astronomy], and a bit of freelance work. So, I’m still crafting [and cooking more], but my schedule is a bit snug at the moment. I’ve plans to make a cobbler-esque thing with cherries tonight or tomorrow, and I want to post up that recipe because it is, a) delicious and b) a good example of working from someone else’s recipe and finding my own twist [my favored way to cook].
Lack of posts can be blamed on the combination of the four events listed above. My birthday and finals were the same week, and then it was the mad dash to get to all the relatives for the holidays. So, my apologies if yo’ve shown up to look for something fun to make or read and come across the same old show.
A proper update–with pictures of newly made stuff–to come tomorrow. Hope your Saturday night is fun!
I’ve found quite a few pockets of free time in the last few weeks, and I’ve been stitching like mad. Pictures will be forthcoming in the next day or so, but so far right now I’ve got done a very cute little sportweight purse and a good start on a blanket. We’ve also been cleaning around the apartment, and The Husband discovered exactly where I’ve been keeping all my extra hats. They were in a different storage bin than I thought they were in, and I’ll be posting pictures with an option to buy on them sometime this week.
Also, we made it through Thanksgiving here in the States, and we even helped cook at one. [If you’re in need of a ridiculous mashed potato recipe, may I suggest Pioneer Woman Cooks?]
And how was your long weekend, folks?
